$29.2 Million Investment Has Boosted Australian Solar Research

The Australian solar cell research has received a $29.2 million grant From the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) together with the University Of New South Wales (UNSW) with 11 of the 22 projects as reported by Optics.

Australia is leading in solar photovoltaics technology development – our researchers regularly break world records, in time with the announcement with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) funding round at UNSW’s new Solar Industrial Research Facility (SIRF) in Sydney.

It could lead to several breakthroughs, ranging from the development of printable solar cells that can be easily rolled up and transported, to the integration of semi-transparent solar cells into a window. This funding will see that they continue to enhance their skills, capacity, and knowledge, as they seek to deliver more affordable and reliable energy while shifting to a lower emissions future.
