Apple is looking at expanding into Australia’s energy market as stated by senior vice-president of environment, policy and social initiatives, Lisa Jackson.
Jackson said that the company was looking at all options to reduce their carbon footprint by purchasing solar farms across the world to help their 100% renewable target. Apple is already 100% renewable in Australia by buying its power from renewable energy sources from existing retailers.
She also added that the company was looking to move closer to the supply of electricity in Australia. This will be more likely be a direct stake in an energy project, rather than investing in a new power project on their own.
