Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Southern New South Wales has installed the largest rooftop solar power system. The solar power system consists of 6,000 solar PVs at the Wagga Wagga campus at a cost of $3.2 million as reported by ABC News.
Edward Maher, CSU green manager said that it’s a milestone for the university and the for the renewable energy industry in Australia. The solar power system will generate 1.77 megawatts which are equivalent to powering 400 Australian homes. The system will also cut the university’s electricity needs by 20%.
