A startup Dutch company called “Lightyear” has presented their plans of building their own solar car boasting a 500-mile range on a single charge. The Lightyear One features a 4-wheel drive that can handle rough terrains as reported by Inhabitat.
The integrated solar cells on the roof on the car will produce enough power to recharge the battery during the day, thus making recharging unnecessary. In sunny days or sunny climates, the car can drive for months without recharging, but if a long drive is required, the car can be charged using a standard power socket.
Lightyear One will be presented in early 2018.
