Several car manufacturers are among the members of a new national body that aims to increase the sale of electric vehicles in Australia.
Launched in Canberra this week, The Electric Vehicle Council’s industry supporters include Audi, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Tesla, Volkswagen and Porsche.
Josh Frydenberg attended the launch and announced a $390,000 grant from the Australian Renewable Agency.
The grant will be used to educate Australians about electric vehicles and investigate better ways to encourage buyers to purchase green vehicles.
