Enel Green Power and Dutch Infrastructure Fund Partners In Building 275MW Solar Farm

A joint venture between Enel Green power and the Dutch Infrastructure Fund has started construction of the 137.7 megawatts Bungala Solar One plant located in Port Augusta as reported by PV-Tech.

Once completed, it will have a total of 275.4 megawatts, making it the biggest solar PV plant in Australia.

Enel will put US$157 million to the project while the total investment of US$315 million will be financed through equity and a consortium of local and international banks.

Key takeaways include:

• A power purchase agreement has been made with Origin Energy
• Bungala Two is expected to go operational by the end of 2017
• The 274 megawatt project is expected to be operational by 2019 and will generate 570 gigawatt-hour/year

The power produced by the Bungala One will be delivered to Australia’s grid via the Davenport and Emeroo substations.
