Federal Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg questioned if renewables are still relevant and still need subsidies as he talked down the Clean Energy Target, central proposal of chief scientist Dr. Alan Finkel. Many conservative MPs have presented their concerns about the subsidies provided to renewable generators under the RET as reported by Adelaide Now.
The federal government is known to be working on a different form of the CET that would give incentives for reliability.
