Iowa State University Solar Car Gearing For Race In Australia

The Iowa State University’s Team PrISUm will take part in an international solar car competition in Australia later this year.

Philip Gates, student spokesman for the team said that they will be heading to Australia later this summer to prepare for the race in the fall. Gates said that they will be sending 10 members of their team at the end of August and will use the latest solar car.

The solar-powered car is named Penumbra and will be flown to Darwin, Australia to compete in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
