Schneider Planet Ark Solar And Battery Micro-grid Receives $1.95M Grant From South Australia

Ecogeneration reported that Schneider Electric and Planet Ark Power received a grant of $1.5 million from the South Australian government to help in building a $13.9 million solar and battery pilot project.

The project combines solar power and battery technology and will be optimized by the Schneider Electric micro-grid management system. The system is then integrated with an advanced distribution management system in delivering a more secure and reliable energy back to the grid.

The grant is part of South Australia’s $150 million renewable technology Fund, Designed to support projects in:

  1. Renewable generation
  2. Bioenergy
  3. Bulk energy storage
  4. Hydrogen infrastructure

It will also include a grid-connected micro-grid with 2.9 megawatt-hours of smart battery storage, demand management, new integration of networks and up to 6 megawatts of rooftop solar power
