The South Australian government has leased two diesel generators as back up to avoid any power shortfalls this coming summer as reported by The Advertiser.
The generators will provide an additional 276 megawatts of power to the state. The generators are located at two sites, namely Elizabeth and Lonsdale and will be run by diesel in December and January to avoid the statewide blackouts as demand goes up during summer. The state government has made a December 1st deadline to have the generators running.
The diesel generators are part of the $550 million energy policy made by the Labor Party.
