The Guardian reported that Turnbull confirms the government seeks to extend the life of Australia’s oldest coal power plant.
AGL Chief Executive had this to say in response:
.@TonyAbbottMHR We’re getting out of coal. We committed to the closure of the Liddell power station in 2022, the end of its operating life.

Coal power is not the way to reduce risk of energy supply interruptions. Adoption of more renewables and helping to foster a good renewable economy in Australia and reduce carbon emissions is the best way to achieve this.
