Western Australia Farming Community Is Getting Affordable Power Through Solar

Six farming households in Ravensthorpe, south of Perth, have chosen to get power from solar and solar batteries. Western Australia’s energy firm Western Power offered this reliable and renewable system for free as an alternative to replacing old electrical poles  as reported by ABC News.

The solar power system has kept the power on for days when the region experienced big floods in January. Also, the solar power system is giving them consistent power frequencies, which means there are no voltage spikes and power fluctuations.

The project is just a trial, and policy would need to be changed if the residents of Ravensthorpe want to go off-grid.
