The Australian gas Networks announced that they will play an important role in a trial to produce hydrogen from water for injection into gas networks as reported by Gas World.
Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has funded AGN in Adelaide to enable them to trial a new electrolyser that uses electricity to split water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen. The project will be funded by a $5 million grant from ARENA. The test would inject hydrogen in small quantities into the gas distribution network that is owned by AGN.
